Al-Joman Charity Association: Weaving Hope into Jordan’s Future
Al-Juman Charity Association was established in Amman in 2022 with the primary goal of supporting and empowering the local community, with a special focus on women, youth, and students facing financial challenges. The association is guided by a clear vision to promote education, sustainable development, and humanitarian initiatives that benefit society. It strives to build an integrated environment for social and economic development by offering diverse programs and ongoing initiatives that contribute to improving quality of life and enhancing social cohesion.
Professional training and empowerment initiatives are among the association’s core pillars. In 2024, it launched the Sewing and Handicrafts Center in Amman, supported by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation and in partnership with CARE International. This center goes beyond teaching sewing skills; it serves as a genuine platform for sustainable economic growth for women. More than 50 women have been trained and empowered to establish home-based projects and cooperatives. Strategic partnerships provide trainees with market access and professional guidance, broadening their economic and social horizons.
Additionally, the association launched the Al-Yusra Fund for Education and Empowerment in 2023, offering scholarships and interest-free loans to financially disadvantaged university and institute students in Jordan. To date, more than 100 students have benefited, with around 20 graduates, reflecting the fund’s significant positive impact on young lives. The fund aims to build a dignified academic and professional future for youth through sustainable support and community solidarity.
The association plays an active role in promoting core values such as transparency, excellence, and teamwork, which have earned it the community’s trust and continued support. Thanks to these values, Al-Juman Charity has been able to provide exceptional training, consultancy, and humanitarian services, alongside effective partnerships with local and international institutions that strengthen its capabilities and expand its impact. This ongoing dynamism helps the association achieve its developmental goals in a tangible and sustainable way.
Al-Juman Charity believes that true empowerment begins within the community itself and continually seeks to create long-term positive change by supporting and enabling individuals across various fields. By combining education, professional training, and financial and social support, the association offers a successful model of modern charity work that respects cultural heritage and meets community needs. The association continues to expand its programs to include more groups and provide broader opportunities for empowerment and sustainable development.
